The RCAF’s multi-engine trainer under the Future Aircrew Training program is the Beechcraft King Air 260—designated the CT-145E ‘Expeditor II.’ The name is a tribute to a comparably sized training aircraft the C45/CT-128 Expeditor in service from the 1940s to the 1970s. The original Expeditor aircraft was used to train Second World War navigators and bombardiers. It also served in other roles from photo survey to light cargo and passenger transport duties. The fleet of seven CT-145Es will be based at Southport, near Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. (RCAF)
